soft warm hands
that touch my chest
soothing, charging, bringing
forth assurances; the comforts
that togetherness brings
feeling a part at last
gentle quiet sounds
that soothe my mind
replacing, exciting, taking
me away, from the cold
giving me a life and hopes
surround and are realized
Like the warmth, the light
sought by all, seeking to capture
as if the lingering traces may fulfill
a distant dream, a hope that shines
but fades in realizations
Rising, all rush forth to feel those
outstretched arms
Hidden so long in the cold dark night
will there ever be day?
Wanting so much to be a part
but confined within a room
only able to watch the others
feeling a chill, nagging me
laughing at me, reminding me of
exactly what I can never seem to be
Taunting and teasing, playing at my window
Blinding my eyes, with beauty and grace
Overwhelming, surrounding, binding me with its spell
It is ever distant
Again I am made to realize
that I am apart
And outstretched arms
and longing dreams
can never hope to feel
togetherness when alone;
to be held when afraid
to inspire when weak
